over it

All I know is that I can stall
but it's too late, getting so late
and you said that you'd see me
but you're gone, now I can go home
Oh, all I know
And it's so great, all this free time
And I'm over it.

I shouldn't kick myself when I am down. I need to try and help myself up and meet a new girl. 'Cause that last girl was nice but she sure took off fast. Oh, and the luck, the luck that I've had. Oh, stop chasing your dreams, they're only lies you tell when you're asleep.

would you look at me
I'm pulling an ocean to the sea.
would you look at me
I'm running in circles to be free.
and I'll be here
I'm looking at you, kid
here's looking at you, kid
you and me.
day and night
I'm shining so bright.
and the drifting clouds
are hanging so
I'm hanging on so tight.
and I won't let go
I won't turn around
you won't ever see me go.

I've been hoping to see your smile
waiting
killing time
in the sun
summer time
here we come
home
here we go again.
you've been thinking about leaving
I'm falling
to the ground
in the sun
summer time
you have gone
home
and I'm all alone.
(I can't tell you that I love you
so I hope you already know.)

my last chance
04:25

I get to the party a little later than everyone else
there's gotta be a reason why I always show up by myself
so I sit in the corner with this girl and she tells me that there's more to this than we'll ever know
and I say all I want's to be with someone
whose one last kiss will get me through the night
can you tell me you can give me this?
we go outside and we take a ride in my car
she says to pull over so we can talk and look at the stars
sitting on the hood with her I look into her eyes
a chance I had that I let slip by
and we talk on about our dreams in life
ignoring the temptations of our lips
and searching for the words we might have missed
we get back to the house as the party starts to die down
sitting on a couch with her I take a quick look around
and I ask her if she would like to dance
the party's almost over this is my last chance
she nods and she smiles as she leads me to the middle of the room
and we dance on to songs that bring us back
and with my arms around her waist I say
I'm hoping that the music never ends
I'm waiting for the record to skip
so we can do this all over again.

this new england heart

I feel the cold rushing in
and I know that it's fall again
you know that I miss
driving in my car with you
with the windows down
and the hoods of our sweatshirts
warm against our necks
oh!
and when that trip was over
I couldn't wait for the next
it just got me thinking
would there be another time with you
after all that we have been through
all the nights when we went out
and everything we talked about
oh!
I hope you know that I'll never forget you
no.
you know that I miss the chill
driving with the windows down
but it's not the cold that gets me
it's just the trees are prettier in october
oh, in october
you know that I miss
driving in my car with you
with the windows down
and the hoods of our sweatshirts
warm against our necks
we're gonna go out tonight
we're gonna hit the town and have some fun
have some fun
we'll have some

where I lie
every goodnight feels like goodbye
what could be there?
crouching down,
holding on,
tucked away,
in the shadows?
is it good? is it bad?
is it love? is it hate?
is it me?
is it you?

christmas time is here again
time to spend with friends and kin
but families drift as we grow old
and friends will come and they will go
and you feel so alone
this time of year
kids grow up and they get tall
some point they won't return your calls
you write and write and write them all
but you realize you've been written off
and you won't recall
christmas was fun at all
but it was
remembering all the times you had when you were young
overwhelms you with feelings of sadness and gladness all at once
and it's sad to think that christmas will never be as fun
but I'll keep it in my heart
"well it's cold, A man's gotta do something to keep warm"
and I'll hate going out in the storm
the fire is slowly dying
and my dear we're still goodbying
but as long as you love me so
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
I'll push on through the years and snow
and try not to wonder where'd they go
I'll embrace these thoughts embrace them all
string the lights and deck the halls
next year it will be bright
merry christmas to all and to all a goodnight

why won't you see it?
why won't you see it?
you say it's all in my head
but it's all that I've had
so I gotta believe it
picking up on where I left off
gotta take these bitches in stride
no one notices when I get up
I get up but I get tired
and I stress out
and all I ask
all I ever ask
why won't you see it?
why won't you see it?
you say it's all in my head
but it's all that I've had
so I gotta believe it

suddenly
oh, suddenly
suddenly everything falls apart
and I say
oh, there goes my heart
I am worthless
I am hopeless
no direction
I am lost
I'm fictitious
non-existent
of no interest
I am nothing
there's nothing here
no one's here
I'm not here
I am gone
suddenly
oh, suddenly
suddenly everything falls apart
and I say
oh, there goes my heart

as the lights of fenway
shine, shine, shine
you shine/I'll shine bright
I'll shine all my life
I'm going, I'm going, I'm gone
[we really hit it off
right from the start]
round and round we go
I'm going, I'm going, I'm gone
round and round we go
[we're just trying to get home
we'll be safe at home]
as the lights of fenway
shine, shine, shine
you shine/I'll shine bright
I'll shine all my life
I'm going, I'm going, I'm gone

I hope you had a good night
I know I did
I always have a good time
with you.
